A Gift That Lasts Forever – Giving to Endowment

A Gift That Lasts Forever – Giving to Endowment

Susanne Delaney Mattheis moved to Bismarck in 1975 and was an ardent supporter of many civic and charitable organizations. She wanted to provide resources to these entities after she was gone. Her attorney contacted the North Dakota Community Foundation for more information on various options. After several conversations over the course of a few months, Susanne decided to create through her will, a charitable fund at NDCF to fulfill her goals. The Susanne Delaney Mattheis Charitable Fund at NDCF received the entire residue of her estate (after she gave other specific items to family members).

Susanne's fund provides thousands of dollars each year to the organizations she identified in her will: the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra, The Bismarck Public Library Foundation, the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, the Bismarck Arts and Galleries Association, the Medcenter One Foundation (now Sanford Health Foundation), the Bismarck State College Foundation, and the University of Mary. The fund is endowed and the money is carefully invested so that these organizations will receive support in perpetuity.

Her last gift will last forever.
